01/08/2007 Problems for PCs running the latest versions of JRE (Java Runtime Environment) :-.

If your PC has the latest version of Java installed on it, you may find that you get a picture that does not change.  This is probably due to an incompatibility between your version of Java and the Webcam firmware.

This now seems to be listed on the Sun Java website as a bug in JRE 1.6.  The bug status is In progress, bug - click here for details.

For further discussion of the bug, including how to fix it (which basically involves un-installing JRE 1.6 and reverting to JRE 1.5) see the Sun Developer Forum.

This page uses a Java Applet to show a sequence of still images.  The refresh rate is about 1 frame per second on Broadband.
